The Spanish manufacturer will deliver 24 G97-2MW to the project in Shanxi province, west of Beijing, during 2015. It includes an option to add a further 48 2MW turbines for the second phase of the project, which is planned for next year.
According to Gamesa, the Changfangshan project is the first being developed by Everbright, an alternative energy subsidiary of the state-owned conglomerate China Everbright Group.
Gamesa is an active player within China, having already picked up several contracts in the Far East this year. In May, Gamesa agreed to supply G97-2MW turbines to the 100MW Yangchajie project being developed by CGN Energy.
The company said its year-to-date orders in China have almost reached 250MW.
