Gamesa gets 100MW China deal

CHINA: Gamesa has been handed the contract to supply 50 2MW turbines to the Yangchajie wind project.

Gamesa's G97 2MW turbines will be used for the project

Gamesa will produce the G97-2.0MW turbines for developer CGN Wind Energy — part of the China General Nuclear Power group.

The Yangchajie project is located in the Yunnan province in south-east China. The low-wind turbines are set to be installed by the end of the year.

The turbine has been designed for low-wind and high-altitude sites.

Gamesa will potentially also supply another 100MW to the project's second phase during 2015.

In March, Gamesa won the contract to supply 49.3MW of turbines to CGN Wind for the Chengdingsha project in the north-east of the country.

The Spanish manufacturer has received several orders in China recently; just two weeks ago the company landed a 48MW order with Fujian Energy.
