Gamesa signs 150MW Chinese deal

CHINA: Gamesa has signed a letter of intent with local developer Hebei Construction and Investment to supply 75 turbines to the Senjitu II project.

Gamesa's G97 2MW turbine will be delivered next year

The Spanish manufacturer will deliver the G97-2MW turbines to the 150MW project in Hebei province, south-west of Beijing, in 2015.

Gamesa has previously supplied turbines to Hebei totalling 128MW.

The deal was confirmed at a meeting between Spanish president Mariano Rajoy and Chinese premier Li Keqiang in China.

Gamesa is one of the biggest foreign original equipment manufacturers in China. Including this latest deal, Gamesa has been handed just under 400MW in supply contracts this year.

At the start of September, it won a deal to supply Chinese developer Everbright with 24 G97-2MW turbines for the 48MW Changfangshan project in Shanxi province, northern China.
