EDF-EN supply deal with Vestas

UK: Vestas and EDF Energies Nouvelles have signed a four-year master supply agreement (MSA) covering Europe and North America, with the first delivery set for a 31MW project in the UK.

Vestas is a regularly supplier for EDF projects in the US

Vestas will supply nine V105-3.45MW turbines to the Beck Burn projects in Cumbria, northwest England.

The V105 was selected in order to comply with the UK's grid codes and "demanding... tip height restrictions". The UK has a tip restriction of 125 metres.

Delivery is expected to begin before the end of 2016. It is the first order of the MSA between the two companies to run between 2016 and 2019.

Under the "share-of-wallet" deal, EDF-EN will purchase turbines from Vestas for 45% of its future capacity in Europe and 30% of its capacity in North America.

Vestas has been a regular supplier to EDF, particularly in the US. In the past, it has already agreed to supply the 150MW Salt Fork project in Texas, the 150MW Slate Creek project in Kansas and the 250MW Roosevelt project in New Mexico.
