Vestas will deliver 75 V100-2MW turbines to the Salt Fork project in Donley and Gray counties, northern Texas.

Turbines are due to be installed and commissioned by the end of 2016. Vestas will also service the turbines for three years.

The manufacturer said the deal was the first under a new 1GW master supply agreement signed at the end of 2014.

It is the second supply agreement between the two companies after Vestas supplied over 1GW of turbines to EDF projects in north America between 2013 and 2014.

Scotland

Vestas has also been awarded a 66MW contract by Infinis Energy to supply 22 V90-3MW turbines to the Galawhistle project in Scotland, UK.

The turbines will be delivered in 2016, with project completion due in early 2017. Vestas will also service the turbines for five years.

Vestas president of northern Europe, Klaus Steen Mortenseen, said: "Despite regulatory uncertainty, this order underlines our engagement and commitment in the UK market, where customers see the value of deploying cost-competitive, carbon-free onshore wind."

Infinis confirmed two of its projects, including Galawhistle, will be eligible for the outgoing renewables obligation (RO) subsidy scheme in the UK.

UK energy minister Amber Rudd announced last week the RO scheme would be closed a year earlier than expected.

Infinis CEO Eric Machiels said the firm will await further clarification about the closure of the scheme but "remains confident that it will be able to build out its 130-150MW growth target under the RO by 2017".
