Vestas wins 537MW in US deals

Vestas will deliver 47 V112-3.3MW turbines to SunEdison's Bingham project

Vestas will supply 47 V112-3.3MW turbines totalling 155MW to SunEdison's Bingham project in Maine, northeast US. Vestas said Bingham would have a capacity of 185MW when completed, as it had previously supplied components to the project.

Bingham is expected online next year and Vestas will service the turbines for ten years.

Vestas said the deal was part of a 718MW master supply agreement it signed with developer First Wind in December 2013. SunEdison acquired First Wind last year for $2.4 billion.

SunEdison has also awarded Vestas a 274MW order for an undisclosed project in Texas. Vestas will manufacture 83 V117-3.3MW turbines for the site, with delivery expected in 2016. The deal includes ten years' servicing.

Vestas said the project would be its largest using the V117-3.3MW turbine.

This agreement is Vestas' seventh with SunEdison and is part of a 600MW master supply agreement signed between the two companies in December 2014.

The manufacturer has also won a 108MW deal from an undisclosed customer to supply 54 V110-2MW turbines to a project in the US. Delivery is expected to take place in 2016 and the agreement includes five years of servicing.

Year to-date, Vestas said it has taken 4.2GW in orders.
