Borssele Zone
Site surveys: Subsea specialist Fugro has been contracted by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, to undertake geotechnical site investigation and geological modelling of the Borssele I and II projects.
The work will be based on geophysical survey data acquired earlier this year and will involve the Bucentaur and Fugro Commander vessels.
The Borssele zone lies in the North Sea, at the southern end of the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). It could host 1.4GW of offshore wind capacity, divided into four 350MW sites. for the first two sites will open in December 2015. 15-Apr-15
EnBW Baltic 2
Cable testing: Transmission system operator 50Hertz has begun trial operations of the first of EnBW Baltic 2's two 150 kV transmission cables.
The 288MW wind farm's turbines can now be brought into operation step by step and the electricity generated fed into the onshore grid at Bentwisch, near Rostock.
Baltic 2, still under , will use Siemens' 3.6MW turbine. 15-Apr-15
Gode Wind
Construction start: The first of 97 monopile foundations has been at Dong Energy's 582MW Gode Wind project.
What will become Germany's largest offshore site is being developed in the North Sea, 45 kilometres from the mainland and 33 kilometres from the islands of Juist and Norderney.
The project will use 97 Siemens 6MW turbines. 16-Apr-15
Gwynt-y-Mor
Vessel charter: Tidal Transit's Tia Elizabeth vessel is set to begin an assignment at RWE Innogy's Gwynt y Mor.
Having arrived at the Port of Mostyn, North Wales, the crew transfer vessel will serve the 576MW wind farm for the next two years.
The project, using 160 Siemens 3.6MW turbines, was placed fully earlier this year. 16-Apr-15
