Nordex will install eight of the 3MW machines at the project in North Rhine-Westphalia, northern Germany.
The first N131/3000, using a 64.4-metre blade, which is on show at WindEnerg Hamburg (23-26 September) will be installed by the end of this year.
Nordex said the larger rotor helps increase yield in the low wind areas of northern Germany.
It also claimed the low noise emission from the turbine was an important factor for local residents.
The German manufacturer will provide 15 years servicing for the turbines. Financing of the project is expected to be completed shortly and the plans include an option for an extension phase.
The N131/3000 turbine is a new addition to Nordex's Delta Generation platform. The other platforms are also on show in Hamburg.
