Nordex to reveal 64.4-metre blade at Hamburg

GERMANY: Nordex has announced plans to unveil a 64.4-metre blade at the WindEnergy Hamburg event next week (23-26 September).

Nordex claimed the blade is one of the longest on the onshore market

The blade will be used on the new N131/3000 3MW turbine, a low wind option for the Delta platform. The German manufacturer said it will be one of the longest blades on the onshore market.

Nordex said it has been designed to reduce the sound power level. Noise from the turbine could be reduced to 104.5dB.

The turbine will be demonstrated on a second generation blade adapter by the TII group, which Nordex claimed will enable easier transportation.

The N131/3000 turbine is a new addition to its Delta Generation platform. The other platforms will also be on show in Hamburg.

A N131/3000 turbine will be installed for the first time by the end of this year.
