Nordex secures first N131/3000 in Finland

FINLAND: Nordex has secured its first order for its N131/3000 turbine in Finland after reaching an 8.4MW deal with local asset management company Taaleritehdas.

Nordex unveiled a 64.4-metre blade to be used on the N131/3000 at WindEnergy Hamburg

Nordex will be expanding the 45.6MW Myllykangas project near the town of Ii in northern Finland.

The manufacturer will supply two N131/3000 turbines and a N117/2400 turbine at the site taking the project's capaciy up to 54MW. 

The project is still under construction with 19 of Nordex's N117/2400 turbines currently being installed. The expansion will take place in the autumn of 2015. 

Nordex unveiled the 64.4-metre blade to be used on the N131/3000 at WindEnergy Hamburg in September.

In December, Nordex won a 36MW deal with Wpd to install 12 N117/3000 turbines at a project in west Finland.
