Vestas secures 30MW Finland deal

FINLAND: Vestas will supply nine 3.3MW turbines to German developer Reconcept's Ylivieska Pajukoski project in northern Finland.

Vestas will deliver nine V126-3.3MW turbines to the Finnish project

The V126-3.3MW turbines will be installed by the middle of next year and the deal includes a 12-year servicing contract.

The turbines will be installed on large-diameter steel towers to allow for greater hub heights, which in turn will mean greater yield in lower wind speeds.

It is the German developer's first project in Finland. Reconcept managing director Karsten Reetz said Finland offered an attractive investment opportunity and the company was already planning for its next project there.

This is the third time in 2014 a project in Finland has opted for the V126 turbine. In March, Finnish developer TuuliWatti Oy ordered 99MW of the turbine to be used at two projects in central and southern Finland.
