Vestas receives low-wind contract for India

INDIA: Vestas has been handed an order for 46.8MW for a wind project in Gujarat, western India.

The deal is to install 26 V100 1.8MW low wind speed turbines on the Vandiya wind development. The order, which includes a ten-year service agreement, is from Powerica.

Delivery is set for the third quarter of 2011.

Powerica is the second Indian developer to acquire the V100 in recent months. In June, Orient Green Power Company signed a 31MW deal for a project in Tamil Nadu, southern India.
