Vestas secures India order

INDIA: Vestas has won an order for turbines with a total capacity of 51.8MW from Powerica for use on two wind farms in India.

The V100-2MW turbine will feature on both sites

The Jangi and Charbara projects, both located in the western state of Gujurat, will feature 25 V100-2MW turbines and one V100-1.8MW machine.

Both orders include delivery, installation and commissioning. The first 21.8MW is expected to go online in July 2014, with the remaining 30MW due to be switched on in March 2015.

In 2011, Powerica entered into a framework agreement with Vestas for the installation of up to 225MW of turbines in India up to 2014. The developer has already commissioned a number of wind farms in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu using Vestas turbines.
