Vestas takes 80MW order in Brazil

BRAZIL: Vestas has won an order from Brazilian developer Galvao Energia to supply 80MW for a three projects in north east Brazil.

Under the deal, Vestas will supply 90 2MW turbines, for three projects in Rio Grande do Norte: Olho D’agua, Sao Bento do Norte and Farol.

The turbines will be delivered in Q3 2012, with completion set for the end of the year. A 10-year service agreement is also included.

This is the second Brazilian order Vestas has won this year.

In March, it received an order from Energisa to supply 150MW for a series of projects in Rio Grande do Norte.

Vestas will supply 75 2MW turbines to five projects in Rio Grande do Norte. These are the Ventos de Sao Miguel, Renascenca 1, 2, 3 and 4 wind farms.

In November last year, Vestas has won an order for 86MW for projects in the Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte states of eastern Brazil.

The contract was for 21 V100 1.8MW and 16 V90 3MW turbines and includes a five-year service agreement. The aim is for the turbines to be installed by the end of this year.
