The plan was announced by Acciona president José Manuel Entrecanales during the company’s annual results. Entrecanales ruled out the prospect of Acciona selling its wind energy division.
In its 2010 results, Acciona announced a 3.9% fall in revenue to €6263 million.
Entrecanales also said he would be postponing Acciona’s strategic plan for 2010-13 as a result of changes in the global economy since the plan was presented in March last year.
In the plan, Acciona said it aimed to raise its revenue by 14% a year and would expand its main markets in the US, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Chile, Poland and Italy.
According to Make Consulting’s annual report into the world’s top wind turbine manufacturers, Acciona is ranked at number 15 in terms of market share during 2009.
