The $40 million facility will be built in Cheyenne. It will produce 300 towers a year to be used for wind farms in the western United States.
The factory will build 80-100 foot sections for towers to be used with 2-to-3MW turbines.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring, with the first shipments of towers to start in the first quarter of 2012.
In September, Gestamp announced plans to build in north east Turkey as part of a joint venture with local industrial supplier firm Faik Celik Holding.
