The contract is for 16 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines. The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines with a two-year service agreement.
The turbines are to be installed in Nybro, Lilla Edet and Öringe, southern Sweden. The installation is expected to be completed by 2011.
Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe describes the V90-2.0MW model as perfectly suited for the wind conditions in the southern parts of Sweden.
Vestas has also recently received an order for 21 V90 3MW turbines from Nasudden Vast Invest, Slitewind AB and Stugyl AB. The order has a total capacity of 63MW to be installed in Gotland, southeast Sweden.
According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's Market Status report, Sweden had a record year for wind development in 2009 with the total capacity increasing tonearly 1.5GW, thanks to the addition of 450MW plus 30MW offshore.
