The order is for the Sierra de Arcos wind power plant, which will be located in Malaga in the south of Spain. It will be the first time the V100 platform has been used in Spain.
It comprises wind turbine installation, and a ten-year service and availability contract. Delivery is scheduled to start during the last quarter of 2010, with completion planned for the beginning of 2011.
Vestas Mediterranean president Juan Araluce, President said: "We are very proud to sign this contract for installation of the very first project in Spain – and in the Mediterranean region – with the new V100 platform, a highly efficient wind turbine for sites with low wind."
The V100 was launched last year. Purchasers in 2010 include Global Wind Power, which acquired 50 for projects in Bulgaria and Romania, and Capital Power Corporation, which ordered 44 for a development in British Columbia, Canada.
