Hanas New Energy Company signs Vestas wind turbine deal

CHINA: Vestas, the global leader in wind energy, has received an order of 49 MW from Ningxia Hanas New Energy Company, it has announced.

The contract includes towers, delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, and a two-year service and maintenance agreement.

The order consists of 25 units of the V90-1.8/2.0MW turbine, suitable for low-wind areas.

CEO of Hanas New Energy Company, Mr Ma Fuqiang said: "Acquiring mature and reliable technological support is of utmost importance for us.

"Being the most experienced company in the industry, Vestas is an important partner and we’re very hopeful to have many more opportunities for collaboration with Vestas in the future."

Jens Tommerup, president of Vestas China, said: "The fact that the customer stresses the importance of mature and reliable technology, and that they have chosen us for exactly that reason, is an important acknowledgement."

The site of the project is located in Huianbao, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and the turbines are scheduled to be delivered in the third quarter of 2010.
