Repower wins order for 26 wind turbines from Eole-RES

FRANCE: Repower has won a contract from RES's French subsidiary Eole-RES to supply 26 2MW MM92 turbines for a wind farm planned for the Champagne-Ardennes region of France.

Repower wins 26 MM92 turbine deal from RES subsidiary

The new Langres Sud wind farm in the département of Haute-Marne will have a 52MW capacity when it is complete. The order is due to be delivered and commissioned by October.

It is the second deal Repower has secured from RES this year. In November Repower received its biggest ever onshore order for 954MW from RES Canada.

Speaking about the order, Repower CEO Per Hornung said: "France remains one of the most important wind markets in Europe. So far we have set up almost 400 turbines with a total capacity of some 750MW in various French regions and wish to expand our position here even further."

In December, Repower won an order for 34 of its 2 MW turbines from French developer and operator Erelia.

Delivery is planned for the end of the year to the 68MW Hauts-Pays project, one of the largest in France and under construction in the north-easterly Haute-Marne département.

The turbines will be supplied under a 2007 master supply agreement with Electrabel, also owned by GDF Suez.
