The Danish manufacturer will supply 31 V126-3.6MW turbines to Palisade Investment Partners’ 112MW Granville Harbour project in Tasmania, south Australia.
Under the deal, Vestas will also be responsible for the civil and electrical works of the project, and will service the site for 25 years once it is online in Q4 2019.
The turbines will be installed on 137-metre towers, meaning the machines will be among the tallest installed on Tasmania, the manufacturer claimed.
Palisade acquired the project from original developer Westcoast Wind in February 2018.
Serbia
Vestas has also been awarded a 69MW deal to supply turbines to the Kosava 1 project in Serbia.
Twenty V126-3.45MW turbines will be installed on "site-specific" 112-metre towers to meet tip-height constraints at the wind farm, Vestas said. The V126 is typically offered with 87-metre, 117-metre, 137-metre and 147-metre towers.
It is due online in early 2019, and Vestas will service the site for 12 years.
All of Vestas' deals in Serbia are with Kosava 1's developer MK Fintel Wind. The manufacturer delivered turbines to the 9.9MW Kula and 6.6MW La Piccolina projects, installed in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
"Kosava Phase I is to date our biggest single wind development and it is also the third project in a row with Vestas.
"We look forward to complete it and immediately start working on Kosava Phase II and on the many other projects of our ambitious pipeline in the Balkans and in Russia," said Tiziano Giovannetti, CEO of MK Fintel.
