Greenko picks Suzlon for first time

INDIA: The Indian renewables developer has given Suzlon a turbine supply contract for 105MW.

Greenko has more than 500MW operating wind capacity in India

Greenko has more than 500MW of operating wind capacity in India across five sites.

It will be the first time Greenko uses Suzlon turbines at one of its projects, which until now have largely used Gamesa turbines.

Suzlon will supply 50 S97 2.1MW turbines to a project in Andhra Pradesh, due online by January 2017.

The turbines will be installed on Suzlon's hybrid lattice and tubular tower.

In February 2015, Greenko awarded Gamesa  a 160MW turbine supply contract for a project in the Jaisalmer region of Rajasthan. 

Greenko has more than 1GW of operating renewable energy assets in India and is targeting 3GW by 2018. It also develops hydro and thermal projects.
