Vestas awarded 99MW Mexico deal

MEXICO: Vestas has won a 99MW contract with local electricity supplier Isolux de Mexico to provide turbines to two projects in Tamaulipas, northeast Mexico.

Vestas will deliver its V112-3.3MW turbine to the two Mexican projects

Vestas will supply 30 V112-3.3MW turbines to the La Mesa and Ciudad Victoria projects. Both with a 49.5MW capacity.

Turbine delivery is expected by the end of 2015, with commissioning due in Q3 2016. The contract also includes a 15-year service deal.

Earlier this month, Vestas was handed a 148.5MW order to supply its V117 3.3MW turbine to the Tres Mesas project, also in Tamaulipas.

In 2013, the manufacturer also supplied turbines to the 54MW El Porvenir project in the state.

According to Vestas, it has installed 406MW of turbines in Mexico.
