Vestas wins 82.5MW Turkey deal

TURKEY: Local utility Bak Enerji Uretimi has awarded Vestas with an 83MW order to supply a project in central Turkey.

Vestas' V126-3.3MW turbine will be manufacturerd for the Yahyili project

Vestas will manufacture 25 V126-3.3MW turbines for the Yahyali project, delivered in early 2016.

Yahyali is expected online in the second half of 2016. The contract also includes a ten-year service agreement.

Vestas Mediterranean president Marco Graziano said Turkey is expected to become "one of the largest" wind markets in the world due to an increase in power demand.

The manufacturer said it has installed 846MW in capacity in Turkey since 1984. According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, Vestas' largest project online in Turkey is the 113.4MW Samil WEPP project in northwest if the country.
