Acciona “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç installed 762MW last year, up from just 205MW the year before. The turbine manufacturing unit boosted Acciona Energia's business, which had been heavily affected by regulatory change in Spain.
Acciona Energia posted revenues of €2.2 billion, an 11.6% increase year-on-year. Earnings fell 7.7% to €788 million.
The Spanish government cut all renewable energy subsidies in 2013, dramatically slowing the growth of wind capacity. Conversely, many of Acciona's turbine orders have come from the Americas.
Last year, the Spanish firm secured turbine orders for 93MW, 90MW and 153MW in Brazil. It also picked up a 300MW order in the US and a 252MW Mexican order. In December, the unit had an order book of over 1GW.
Brazil continues to look like the company's most active market, as Rio Energy placed a 117MW order earlier this year.
