Acciona secures 93MW Brazil deal

BRAZIL: Acciona has won a contract to supply turbines with a total capacity of 93MW to a Brazilian consortium for use on a wind farm in the country.

The projects will be fitted with turbines from Acciona's 3MW range

The Spanish manufacturer will install its medium-wind AW116/3000 and low-wind AW125/3000 turbines on the project located in the north-east of Brazil.

The deal was signed with a joint venture made up of Brazilian renewables companies Voltalia, Chesf and Encalso.

These orders come on top of 120MW order for the Atlantica wind farm in Rio Grande do Sul, owned by Brazilian electric company CPFL.

Along with the installation of the turbines, Acciona will provide operations and maintenance services on the wind farm for 15 years.

In December's renewable energy auction, the Brazilian joint venture was handed the rights to develop two projects with a total capacity of 120MW.
