GERMANY: Siemens has released a video showing a typical day of an offshore turbine engineer at the 48MW Baltic 1 project.

The 48MW Baltic 1 project was Germany's first commercial offshore operation
It uses 21 Siemens 2.3MW turbines and was commissioned in 2011

The follows Andre Carstens as he performs a retrofit to a generator on a turbine at the site, 16 kilomoetres offshore.
Carstens has been with Siemens since 2002. "This is the future: offshore," he said.
The video shows Carstens and his team travelling to the site, transfering to the turbine and entering the nacelle of the 2.3MW turbine.
It also shows what the workers need to go through as part of their deepwater safety training.
