Siemens wins 405-turbine maintenance deal

UNITED STATES: Siemens has announced a 10-year servicing deal with American utilities firm Pattern Energy for projects across North America.

Siemens' 2.3-108 turbine will be used at the Panhandle 2 site and comes under the contract

The company will provide maintenance to 405 turbines across six projects with a combined capacity of 938MW.

The deal covers servicing at the 264MW Ocotillo project, the 101MW Hatchet Ridge Wind project, both in California, and the 152MW Spring Valley Wind project in Nevada.

Additionally, the deal includes the 101MW Santa Isabel project in Puerto Rico and the 138MW St Joseph site in Canada.

Siemens has also agreed to maintain the 182MW Panhandle 2 wind project in Texas, which will use 79 SWT-2.3-108 turbines when it becomes operational this year.

Siemens said the projects would also qualify for its Power Curve aerodynamic upgrades.
