Siemens confirms 182MW Pattern deal

UNITED STATES: Siemens has confirmed it has been handed a 182MW order from Pattern Energy for a project in Texas.

Siemens is to supply 79 2.3MW 108-metre rotor turbines to the Panhandle 2 project, located in Carson County, near Amarillo.

Installation is set to begin in March with the aim of bringing the project online by November 2014. The deal also includes a service contract.

In January, Google revealed it has extended its wind energy policy by investing $75 million in the facility.
