Goldwind to supply 215MW Panama project

PANAMA: Goldwind has won the contract to supply the turbines for the second 215MW Penonome wind farm in Panama, the company's largest international sale to date.

Goldwind will install its 2.5MW turbines on the project

The Chinese manufacturer's US subsidiary will supply 86 of its 2.5MW permanent-magnet direct-drive turbines for installation on the project in Coclé province in the centre of the country.

Along with the installation of the turbines, Goldwind will provide operations and maintenance services on a "long-term" basis. The project is being developed by InterEnergy Holdings.

In September 2012, Goldwind announced that it had secured a deal to supply the turbines for the first 55MW Penonome project. This wind farm, which was developed by Union Eolica Panamena, was completed in 2013.
