Nordex signs 40MW Maryland supply deal

UNITED STATES: Nordex has confirmed it will supply 16 of its 2.5MW N100 turbines to the 40MW Fourmile Ridge project in Maryland.

The Nordex 100 2.5MW turbine will be used at the Maryland project

A spokesperson for the German turbine manufacturer said the company would deliver the turbines to the Maryland site by the end of this year.

The project is planned to become operational by the end of 2014 following a brief testing period.

Last year, Nordex announced it was closing its nacelle production plant in the US with a loss of 40 staff, and that most of its production would take place at its German plant.

In December, developer Wind Works Power ordered 60 Nordex turbines from its 250MW range for the 150MW Thunder Spirit wind project in North Dakota, USA.

Nordex is also in the process of producing the N100 2.5MW low- to moderate-wind turbine for the Wooley Hill project in Cambridgeshire, UK and the Seine Rive Gauche Nord site in northern France, which is due for completion in 2015.
