The second year of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's Turbine of the Year awards saw turbine manfacturers Nordex, Vestas, Siemens, Enercon and Gamesa receive awards for their turbines, blades and drivetrains from the “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç editorial team.

Any wind turbine, blade or drivetrain available for commercial order within the year is elegible for consideration in the awards. The categories are: Turbines up to 2MW, Turbines 2.1-3.5MW, Turbines 3.6+MW, Drivetrain, Rotor Blade, and Innovation.

Each product is assessed for: overall product design quality; clever use of technology innovation; product-market impact and relevance; fitness for purpose; relability record; grid connectivity; and installation and upkeep.

The first “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç supply chain awards will be revealed this summer, with the 2014 “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Turbine of the Year awards being announced in January 2015.
