With the installation of the 40th Areva 5MW turbine, the turbine installation has reached the halfway mark. Nine of the turbines have been fitted with their rotors.
Working out of Bremerhaven, Fred Olsen's Brave Tern and Bold Tern vessels have been deployed at the project since January and March respectively, and have installed all 40 of the turbines.
One week saw a record eight towers and nacelles installed.
There are plans to have the wind farm fully completed by the end of the summer. However, it is not due to be connected to the BorWin beta grid connection until early 2015.
The project is located 110 kilometres from the German North Sea coast.
