The last foundations, ultimately destined for the 400MW wind farm in the German North Sea, have now been delivered by barge to the ABC-peninsula quay near Bremerhaven.
From here they will be shipped to the project site, 110 kilometres from shore.
All 80 foundations are expected to be in place by early 2014. The first Areva M5000-116 turbines were installed at the wind farm in September. Turbines will continue to be installed while the remaining tripod foundations are put in place.
The specially designed foundations weigh 900 tonnes and are 60 metres tall.
