Under the terms of the contract, Fabricom will maintain the jacket foundations of the 48 turbines and transformer substation, together with the monopile foundations of the measurement mast.
Maintenance will begin this summer, to be carried out from the nearby island of Heligoland – where the wind farm's control room and operations base are currently being built.
Fabricom's CEO Stanley Maas said the deal was part of the company's strategy to contribute to renewable energy and become a regular maintenance partner in the offshore wind power industry.
The Nordsee Ost project will use Repower's 6.15MW turbines on the jacket foundations in water depths of up to 25m.
Once completed, due to be in spring 2015, the Nordsee Ost offshore wind project will have an installed capacity of approximately 295MW.
