Enercon to supply 51MW Canadian project

CANADA: Enercon is to supply turbines with a capacity of 51MW to developer Boralex for use on a part-community-owned wind farm in Quebec Canada.

Enercon will install 22 of its E92-2.3MW turbines

The German manufacturer will install 22 of its E92-2.3MW turbines on the Temiscouata 2 project in the Lower Lawrence region.

Boralex, which owns the project in conjunction with Temiscouata regional municipal county, said that it expects the project to be operating by December.

Enercon also supplied the turbines for the nearby 25MW Temiscousta 1 project, which is currently under construction.

Boralex further announced this week that the project has been given the go ahead under a decree issued by the Quebec provincial government.

Its construction cost is estimated at just over C$130 million (US$144 million).

The medium-wind E92 turbine was launched by Enercon in 2012, with a prototype installed last year.
