Installation at Mussalo harbour in Kotka on the Gulf of Finland, about 130 kilometres east of Helsinki, will begin at the end of September, Enercon said.
The new turbine type, unveiled at the Hanover industry trade fair in April 2012, is designed for inland sites with lower wind speeds. The prototype was installed at Simonswalde near the company's headquarters at Aurich in Germany in December 2012.
Finland introduced new feed-in tariffs in 2011 that provide significantly improved investment conditions for wind projects, and the Finnish government targets 2.5GW of wind capacity by 2020, compared with just 288MW at end-2012, said Enercon.
Since 1997, the company has installed 21 turbines with a total 32.2MW in Finland. It opened its Helsinki sales office in 2012.
