The five projects — all located in Ontario — will use a version of Repower’s MM92 2.05MW turbines that has been developed for cold conditions.
The turbines are set to be delivered mid-2013 with the aim of bringing the project online later that year.
Repower said the projects were Settlers Landing, Snowy Ridge, Grey Highlands, Cloudy Ridge and Clean Breeze, all located in the vicinity of Oshawa.
Andreas Nauen, CEO of Repower Systems SE commented: "We are pleased that we have been able to conclude contracts for a total of eight wind farms in Ontario.
"The cold-climate version of the MM92, specifically equipped for use in locations with damp weather conditions and major temperature fluctuations, is very well received by the Canadian market."
The MM92 has proved popular in Canada. In May, Repower was handed a 40-turbine deal by EDF Energies Nouvelles for an 80MW project in Quebec.
