The deal is for 166 V90 1.8MW turbines, which will be delivered in 2012. The project is located in Southern Alberta in Vulcan County, approximately 165 km southeast of Calgary.
The project has been financed via a 20-year contract with San Francisco-based Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).
PG&E will use the renewable energy credits from the deal to meet its obligations under California's renewable portfolio standard, which requires state utilities to meet 20% of electricity from renewables.
