Wind Wire: China - Seven projects included in blueprint

China's ambitious plan to construct seven massive wind farms has been woven into the draft of the long-awaited new energy rejuvenation and development programme, an official blueprint of the country's energy strategy. An announcement is expected soon.

The seven projects will comprise total installed capacity of 126.3GW, says Shi Pengfei, vice-president of the China Wind Power Association. They are divided among the provinces of Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Jiangsu and three provinces in the north-east. Meantime, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) is preparing the Five-year Development Programme for 2011-2015.
