Seeking approval for 50 MW in northern Scotland
E.on UK has applied for consent to build a 50 MW wind farm at Camster, near Wick, in the far north of Scotland. If approved, the £45 million project will comprise 25 turbines on partially forested land, part of which is owned by the Forestry Commission. According to E.on's Jason Scagell, the company would donate any trees that have to be felled to a proposed district heating scheme at Wick, which would be the first in Britain to use wood to generate both heat and power.
