Vestas is due to supply turbines to the 1.1GW Inch Cape offshore wind farm in the North Sea after securing an order from the project’s developers.
The deal commits the Danish turbine manufacturer to supply, install, and commission 72 of its V236-15MW wind turbines to the site 15km off the east coast of Scotland.
Vestas signed the deal, which includes a ten-year service agreement, with Inch Cape Offshore Limited, a 50:40 joint venture between project developers ESB and Red Rock Renewables.
The deal finalises an earlier preferred supplier agreement between the parties announced in September.
