More than 80 unexploded ordnance have been found at the planned site of Ocean Winds' 882MW Moray West offshore wind farm in the Scottish North Sea.
Exclusion zones of up to 500 metres have been issued around each unexploded ordnance found by a survey vessel currently searching the area.
The warnings were published in a notice to mariners issued by the project's developer this week (13 April).
The investigation into potential unexploded ordnance at the planned wind farm was launched earlier this year and has since been updated several times with warnings to mariners.
Thursday’s update revealed that a total of 81 “targets” were confirmed as unexploded ordnance in the area. Construction of the wind farm is yet to start.
It follows the discovery of an unexploded 12-16 inch naval projectile at the nearby Seagreen offshore wind site, which prompted similar warnings.
Moray West said the survey vessel is likely to continue searching the area until 15 April.
More to follow.
