Nordex nets 102MW order across five wind projects in Turkey

German turbine manufacturer Nordex received an order to supply five onshore wind farms currently being extended in Turkey.

The turbine manufacturer announced today (20 August) it received the order from Turkish renewables firm Akfen Renewable Energy.

Afken is planning to extend five existing onshore wind farms in Turkey and will use turbines from Nordex’s Delta4000 platform.

Two of the wind farms included in the deal are the Hasanoba and Kocalar wind farms in north-west Turkey, which will each be extended with five N149/5.X turbines, Nordex said.

Meanwhile, Akfen ordered nine N133/4800 turbines to extend three other wind farms in the country – the Denizli wind farm in western Turkey, the Sarıtepe project in the south, and the Üçpınar project in the north-west.

All turbines included in the deal will be installed on steel monopiles with hub heights of between 88 and 135 metres, Nordex said.

The company has an installed capacity in Turkey of 3.7GW as of April 2024 and a market share of 29.5%, plus an additional 1.38GW under construction.
