Vestas' development arm has taken its first project in Australia to “reach financial close and construction readiness", the Danish company has announced. The 285MW Lotus Creek wind farm in Queensland is owned by CS Energy and will feature 46 Vestas V162-6.2 MW turbines.
The OEM will deliver the turbines in the first quarter of 2026, with commissioning expected to commence at the end of 2026.
Evan Carless, vice president at Vestas Development Australia, said that "a key" to the project's success has been "nurturing valuable relationships with the traditional owners, landholders, the local community and our dedicated team of consultants".
