Vestas board member steps down to avoid potential conflict of interest

A member of Vestas’s board of directors has stepped down after just several months in the role.

William ‘Bill’ Fehrman was elected to the board of the Danish wind turbine manufacturer at the company’s annual general meeting in April this year.

However Vestas announced today (14 August) that he was leaving his position on the board to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

Fehrman took the decision after he was elected to the board of US utility the American Electric Power Company.

Fehrman will lead the US company as director, president and CEO, Vestas said.

Fehrman previously served as the CEO of US utility Berkshire Hathaway Energy between 2018 and 2023 and as CEO of power company MidAmerican Energy between 2006 and 2018.
