Vestas has reached a milestone of 1GW in confirmed deals for its EnVentus platform and 10GW of total orders in 2020 amid a flurry of turbine orders announced as the third quarter comes to a close.
It will supply and commission 17 of its V150-5.6MW turbines for an unspecified wind farm in the US, and will also service them for ten years for an unspecified customer.
The manufacturer will deliver the turbines in Q3 2021 ahead of commissioning in Q4 2021.
The deal means Vestas has now racked up 1,090MW of firm orders for its EnVentus platform since unveiling the new turbine model in early 2019.
Separately the company announced orders for nearly 400MW of projects in the US and Italy.
It will supply and commission V150-4.2 MW turbines in 4.3MW power-optimised mode for an unspecified 185MW US wind project. The deal also includes a 20-year service agreement.
Delivery of the turbines comes in Q2 2021 with commissioning scheduled for Q4 2021, but the customer and project also remain undisclosed, Vestas stated.
The Danish manufacturer will also supply and commission its V120-2.2MW and V110-2.2MW turbines for another unspecified US project.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Vestas has clinched a 28MW order from AM Energie Rinnovabili for the 28MW Serra del Vento project in the Palermo province of Sicily, Italy.
It will supply and install eight of its V136-3.45 MW wind turbines before servicing them for 20 years.
The delivery of the turbines comes in Q1 2021 with commissioning scheduled for Q2.
The flurry of orders on the last day of Q3 2020 means Vestas has racked up more than 10GW of orders in the first three quarters of the year. It recorded 17.8GW of orders in 2019.
