When it was launched in Amsterdam in 2017, the three-model platform had a nominal rating of 4.2MW, with flexible output of 4-4.5MW, depending on project specifications.
Now, the platform is being offered at 4.5MW nominal rating, with flexible output of between 4.2MW and 4.8MW.
SGRE exhibited the new platform configuration at Brazil “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.
The geared turbine platform launched in November was a step away from SGRE’s previous direct drive onshore platforms.
It forms part of SGRE’s "one segment, one technology" to simplify its turbine offering following the merger of the two manufacturers in 2017.
It comprises three models, one for each wind regime: 132-metre rotor for high wind sites, a 145-metre rotor for medium wind, and a 155-metre rotor for low wind sites.
Norway
The firm has also announced a new turbine supply order with French developer Engie.
SGRE will supply 51 of its legacy SWT-DD-142 direct drive 4MW turbines to the 208MW Tonstad site in southern Norway.
The project will power aluminium producer Hydro Energi facilities. Installation will begin in 2019, SGRE said.
