The seven planned onshore sites in Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Thuringia and Brandenburg will have a total capacity of about 110MW, the manufacturer said.
Both geared and direct-drive turbines with flexible ratings of between 3.5MW and 4.3MW will be deployed at the wind farms, Siemens added. It is the first time SGRE has won a deal for the the SWT-DD-142 since its upgrade to the 4MW class.
The SWT-DD turbines to be used will have rotor diameters of 130 and 142 metres, while the G132 series models will have 132-metre rotors.
They will also have a variety of tower configurations with hub heights of up to 165 metres, SGRE stated.
The seven unspecified projects are to be tendered over the two next years, and ABO Wind expects them to come online by 2020.
ABO Wind has installed and commissioned more than 400 turbines with a combined capacity of 900MW since 1996, and has a similar size pipeline currently under development.
