The developer, based in Hesse in central Germany, plans to offer the SWT-DD-142 turbines for different projects in Germany as well as using them at its own developments.
The low-wind turbines can be produced with different tower configurations — a steel tower allows a hub height of 129, while a hybrid approach gives a height of 165 metres — and with a output rating between 3.5MW and 3.9MW.
VenSol intends to install the turbines at projects in Baden-Wurttemberg, Bavaria, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Thuringia, the company said.
It owns the 13.8MW Dishingen and 9MW Windpark Hilpensberg projects in Baden-Württemberg, the 26.1MW Weener Dwarstief site in Lower Saxony, snd the 19.2MW Zoschingen wind farm in Bavaria.
VenSol Director Christian Bohm said the contract would benefit smaller developments.
